The municipality of Obdach lies harmoniously in the valley of the Granitzenbach north of the Obdacher Sattel, the transition of our Murtal valley into the Lavanttal valley. To the west, the municipality extends to the Seetaler Alps with the region's summit king, the Zirbitz. Here lies a wonderful hiking area with widely drawn paths and a magnificent view from the summit.

The Frauenburg castle ruins are the first sight you see in the Murtal region. It towers over the valley and is beautifully illuminated in the evening. Then it marks the beginning of the Murtal region.
