The Hartberg Museum has been housed in the historic Steinpeißhaus, a Hartberg manor house, since 1988 and is run by the Hartberg Historical Society on a voluntary basis. The house at Herrengasse 6 was first mentioned in documents in August 1406 and was given its name in 1412 by its then owner Seifried Steinpeiß.
- The permanent exhibition of the Museum Hartberg is housed within these historic walls and presents visitors with an interesting historically documented overview of Hartberg's history.
- Special exhibitions are presented in the modern annex, which forms a harmonious ensemble of buildings with the historic Hartberg manor house around an attractive inner courtyard.
From 24.12.2023 to 5.3.2024 the museum is closed.
Reopening on 8.3.2024 with the special exhibition of the Hartberg Cultural Department "ELFIE SEMOTAN - Posture and Pose"
